It is common knowledge in the Eastern Region of Ghana that the Akuapem District has produced hundreds of Teachers, Administrators, Farmers, Lawyers, Doctors, Nurses, Military Officers, Pastors and others. Naturally, these noble men and women passed through the formal educational system, graduating from one stage to another. With the passage of time, our population has increased but at a much faster pace than the provision of educational facilities. This has led to stiff competition which obviously puts disadvantaged children into very great difficulty.
MERRYKIDS has emerged on the scene at an opportune time and with the appropriate message: Let All Who Have Benefited From the System Pay Something Back so that we can collectively support our orphaned and other disadvantaged children to enjoy some level of good education.
The originators of this programme have solid plans which can be readily applied in all the 17 towns that make up Akuapem North. Our appreciation goes to our Sponsors and Members who have supported us to reach this stage. When everyone gets on board, we shall succeed in making the future bright for our young children.
